Michael Brabo is Managing Partner and Founder of Brabo & Carlsen, LLP, a premier accounting firm in the Coachella Valley of Southern California. Mr. Brabo specializes in providing privately held and family owned businesses with accounting, tax, consulting, forensic, estate, and professional trustee services.

A graduate of California State Polytechnic University at Pomona, California with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration, Mr. Brabo is a CPA and is registered with the State of California as a Professional Trustee. Mr. Brabo is on the Board of Directors of the Coachella Valley Housing Coalition and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, California Society of Certified Public Accountants, Building Industry Association – Desert Chapter, and Desert Contractor’s Association.

Wayne Carlsen is Partner and Co-founder of Brabo & Carlsen, LLP. Mr. Carlsen is a CPA who specializes in auditing and tax planning. Mr. Carlsen’s areas of expertise range the for-profit and non-profit sectors with a concentration in country clubs, common interest realty associations [i.e., Condominium and Homeowners’ Associations (HOAs), and Cooperative Housing], other non-profit organizations, and the construction industry. His experience also includes auditing employee benefit/401K plans.

Mr. Carlsen is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts, California Society of Certified Public Accountants, Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants, and Desert Hospitality Accounting Association. He is also a member and Past Treasurer and Board Member of the Community Associations Institute, where he has spoken on a number of topics, and is currently Treasurer for the Tuscany Homeowners’ Association.

Tina Hammer is the Firm Administrator and has been with Brabo and Carlsen, LLP for over 30 years. Mrs. Hammer is responsible for all office procedures, Human Resources, and Accounting all while using her organizational skills to ensure smooth operations in the busy work environment. She assists in the development and implementation of firm policies and procedures; manages and oversees the administration of HR policies, programs, and practices within the firm; she maintains accounts payable, receivables and monthly billing.

Chris Ferris is a CPA and has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with emphasis in Accounting, California State University, San Bernardino, September 2004.

Mr. Ferris also has a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with emphasis in Finance, California State University, San Bernardino, September 2004.

Mr. Ferris has participated in accounting, auditing and tax engagements involving various industries in both the profit and non-profit sectors, including hospitality, construction, professional and retail industries. He has performed several financial statement audits for a variety of non-profit organizations, including country clubs, homeowner's associations and health and welfare industries, and private schools.

Juan Alvarado is a staff accountant who joined Brabo and Carlsen, LLP in June 2017 with the aspiration to become a Certified Public Accountant.

 Mr. Alvarado earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with emphasis in Accounting, California State University, San Bernardino, September 2015.

 Prior to joining Brabo & Carlsen, LLP, Mr. Alvarado spent four years working for a local Country club and Homeowner’s Association, where he preformed the company’s Accounts Receivable and was quickly promoted to Assistant Controller.

 Mr. Alvarado is continuing to expand his knowledge working primarily with Mr. Carlsen and Mr. Ferris by participating in accounting, auditing and tax engagements involving various industries in both the profit and non-profit sectors.
